Brief description of the issue:

The program will randomly crash or freeze without error dialog message, however in Event Viewer it says: “The server Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.Internal.PresenceWriter did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.”

Gamebar is disabled on my system so I really don’t understand why it is doing anything at all.

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Run game. First time the main menu froze in place after I launched the game, stepped out of room, and came back to find it frozen at the menu with zero user input.

Then I relaunched and managed to get in the game, left a long haul flight running and when I came back after a few hours the game had CTD with no error message.

Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version (Learn how to find your current graphics card driver version):

Nvidia. Driver 566.3 has been working fine for months. I had to roll back to it as the newer ones had issues.

Crashes were caused by FBW Simbridge. Even though I had removed all mods it was starting at launch somehow. It appears to have a memory leak.

Removed simbridge and was able to complete long haul flight without issues.

Gamebar errors were likely a red herring and unrelated.

Closed topic as the OP has identified the cause and has a solution for the issue.
