Brief description of the issue:

My PC goes full power shutdown while in-game. Event viewer System logs list several error entries, all for GameInput Service. First entry states “The GameInput Service service terminated with the following error:
The compound file GameInput Service was produced with a newer version of storage.”
subsequent entries are attempts of GameService to restart, to no success

Detailed steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

launch the game, start a flight, power shutdown will trigger after some time

One last thing here, I have noticed on my services list that I have two GameInput Service, one in automatic, one in manual (trigger start). Could this be a conflict between two versions sitting next to each other?

Yep, having two versions of GameInput Service installed can cause conflicts. I recommend uninstalling the older version.
This should help avoid any potential issues.

Hi @TenPatrol many thanks for your feedback, I’ve followed the instructions you provided in the Reddit thread and can now confirm only one GameInput service shows up.

I also have two Gaming Services listed, would it be the same story here? I should only have one? They both show the same path FYI

These two gaming services need to be active as both are default for the Windows system. Since F1 is starting soon, I may not be able to respond for a while
