General Hardware Question

I currently have a Ryzen 5 2600x cpu with 16GB Ram and a Radeon RX580 GPU. Will this be enough to do VR?
Right now it seems to run well on my desktop with pretty much medium settings all around

I’m watching this because you’re asking pretty much what I’d like to know too.

I have a setup which runs on medium settings at 1920x1080 and I’m guessing that my system won’t cope with VR but would like to hear what some knowledgeable folks say.

Might bump up your RAM to 32Gig…
That was a very noticeable upgrade in my experience…

I have a 3600x, 16GB, SSD just for FS and a 580 Nitro+ with a hefty OC, yea its on a Rift DK2 but im waiting on 3060’s and a CV1. I fly GA round the Caribbean so I’ll let you know my experience.

I have an Oculus Rift CV1 and get the error “no headset detected” when trying to activate VR mode in FS2020. Is the CV1 supported and if so how to fix this error?

Sorry. Found solution in the “read-first-vr-known-issues” topic.

I just ran this with a 1660 ti, i5 9500f 32 gigs of ram, it wasn’t that bad. some stutters when loading scenery. I used high settings other than water, shadows and resolution. I ran that at 80. I was flying in Tampa, Fl… BTW it was the oddessy plus.

I have a Pimax 5k Plus, 2080Ti & Ryzen 7 2700x and cannot get VR to work properly. The images are not aligned and are 90 degrees t9o my left. most of what I see is black screen. This cannot be fixed by re-centering. The image appears in a window to my left.

So, DK2, Stock settings that FS sets me up with, quite jaggy but smooth in flight, the odd stutter when loading and also likes to put my head about butt cheek height in the seat.
I suspect the jaggedness is down to the res of the DK2 (I have tried SS at 150%, it did improve it but then the RX580 ran out of breath).
For a casual blat around in a GA it will do but a CV1 or better would do it more justice.
