Getting joystick throttle to work with Honeycomb yoke

I’ve almost no experience with flight simulators prior to MSFS. I built a new computer expressly for MSFS, and it works well, but I was unable to complete the hardware suite. Just as I was starting the project, flight simulator controls became terribly scarce. I was lucky enough to get a Honeycomb Alpha yoke before they vanished from the Earth, and I got a used Logitech Extreme 3D joystick. Throttle quadrants are now rarer than hens’ teeth.

Problem: With both of the controllers connected, everything works except under this condition: In the flight training portion of the sim, as soon as the virtual instructor transfers control to me, the engine RPMs drop to idle and stay there. The throttle on the joystick no longer has any effect. If I disconnect the yoke, then the throttle does work, but I’m having to learn to fly with the joystick, which I feel is much harder than using the yoke. I can’t get a throttle control to save my soul (although the Honeycomb Bravo is on order), so I cannot use the Honeycomb yoke. The keyboard throttle works, but it’s tricky to get RPMs just right with it. Everything on the joystick except the throttle works – flaps, trim, brakes, etc. – with the yoke connected.
Why does the throttle on the joystick not work with the yoke connected? Is there any hope of a workaround until my Bravo comes in two months?

I’m having the exact same problem and just created an account here looking for a fix. Same Yoke.

Just found the fix elsewhere on the forum. Make sure your Magnetos switch on the honeycomb is set to “both” and now it’s fine
