Gibraltar is a British overseas territory in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, facing Africa, which controls the narrow passage from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. The territory is dominated by a rocky mound and has little territory beyond this uninhabitable mound. North of the air base (LXGB), you soon leave the domain of the United Kingdom and enter Spain, the country in which most of this film takes place.
