How do you get rid of the glide slope lines when landing at airports?
Turn off in the Assistance menu.
What was really weird, was that after the hotfix, all of these settings were randomly turned on?? Like I took off and there were poi markers all over the place, the assisted rudder was on, icing was on (I have that off because it is implemented horribly), there were highlighted buttons and knobs all over the place. After a 5 hour flight, I was ripped from the otherwise great flight by giant blue guidance paths that I never turned on. I figured out how to fix these, but man, can they release anything without unintended side effects? I mean, I get that it is a complicated sim, but come on!
It’s recommended to start the Assist options with Hard/True to Life. This is to eliminate any form of assistance in fighting over your controls.
Once you set it up as Hard/True to Life as a base. You can start enabling the assist that you want, one thing at a time.
horrible in which way?
Heres my problem, I try with all assistance on, when I do a ILS landing the Co-pilot takes over the landing and it’s so off never on the runway, lands in the grass etc. I even turn off the AP, etc. When I manually land the plane I have to always be on the outside view behind the plane to see the landing gear and runway. I want to learn the cockpit view for landing. Also why I manual landing sometimes ATC tells me to go around etc. I can’t win
Unfortunately quite a few ILS approaches are wrong implemented in MSFS and you and or the Copilot will always land in the grass.
Do you have an example at which airport and on which runway this bug occurs?
So do you want to land on your own or do you want the copilot to assist you with the landing?
Assistance On = You want copilot to take control for the landing.
Assistance Off = Your want to take control of the landing yourself.
My main goal is to land on my own, and also in cockpit view instead of outside view.
Then you need to turn off the assistance, set to cockpit menu, and land yourself. With assistance set to off, the Copilot will never take over and take control of your aircraft on landing. So you have the freedom to learn to land yourself.
Got it, that’s the thing landing in cockpit view I and up bouncing the plane on the runway. Lol
If you’re bouncing, you’re probably a bit too fast and touching down too hard.
Or nosewheel first…
Like you fly through a cloud on a sunny day in Phoenix, and it will ice you over like you have sitting overnight in Antarctica. I mean, it’s much better now, but I just don’t even want it on at this point as it is still overdone. Ice still collects where it wouldn’t IRL.
Maybe the visual accretion isn’t perfect realistic, but the effect itself isn’t bad IMO.
I wouldn’t consider it horrible.
