I use a Logitech Switch Panel, which is hard-wired (via their driver) to make the gear handle (and all other buttons) work in sim. Working fine in all Aircraft in 2024, but with Gliders the Gear Lever is not working (it does in 2020). So looks like there is a NEW glider specific version of the command for this.
I can use the thing labelled Landing Gear Toggle and re-bind it to a different device but my muscle memory is so linked to that Logitech Lever that I would like to enable it somehow!
I guess the Logitech actually uses Get Set DOWN and UP (or whatever it’s called) as it is a two way lever. Either way, I cannot change the bindings and it does not work in 2 of the default gliders I have tried (the 2 that were also in 2020 and work there).
Seems to me, Asobo have changed the internal command (LVARs or whatever) for Landing Gear on GLIDERS specifically, so it has broken my Logitech function.
Has anyone noticed this too, or found a workaround for this issue without using external Controller software (Axis & Ohs, Spad)?
Hi, so I was searching to see if anyone has reported a bug with lowering the landing gear from hardware yet. I didn’t find anything but your post comes close(ish). What are your thoughts?
I am able to raise the landing gear from my TM Boeing TCA yoke same as in 2020. When I go to lower it, nada. I have to use the mouse to lower the lever in the model. AND to make it worse, if the hardware gear lever is not also lowered, the gear still does not go down. Both levers must be down to extend the landing gear. A lot of work on final!
Is this buggy 24 sounding or more like I have a controller conflict that I have not yet found? And if this is a bug, have you seen a bug report for its, or a similar one that is airplane specific? Thx!
I’m saying it is aircraft specific. In the new Stemme glider, it works as it should (that is Got Friends attention to detail at work!). Not tried their Pipistrel yet but the other 2 you get in the game (DG1001E and LS8-18) do not work that way.
It was in all aircraft, thanks for asking. Found what the problem was with the control binding: To lower the gear the action has to be on release. Thanks again.
Glad you got it sorted. I’ve had some similar issues with my Virpil stuff. Gotta suss out exactly how the physical control is sending inputs and what the sim wants to do with those inputs. I sorta miss the days of my CH HOTAS that didn’t have a buncha two-way switches and three-way rockers and 5-position dials, etc.
