Every grass strip I fly into down here in South Florida looks in need of a mower as it has gone to seed.
I built my first helipad tonight, and cannot figure out how to model the beautiful manicured look of south Florida grass. Grass gets cut weekly down here and is hit with plenty of recycled water several times a week, so it is usually best described as like a PGA tournament golf course green.
Anyone point me to a tutorial or a sample with grass having a very consistent 2 inch height?
This was my first try at grass
This grass may not be exactly golf course grass, but it is kept very short
To mow the grass, add an Apron
Give it a grass type material, like “GrassMoussa”
And lower the opacity to 0 to reveal back the original aerial

Thank you @mamuDesign for suggesting an Apron. That might have been better than my approach, I can’t say.
I ended up using default grass, with medium opacity in terraforming polygons to eliminate the default existing floating grass and weird obelisk palm trees:
For my “cold and dark” start I put a Parking GA-RAMP-SMALL right on the helipad with opacity zero.
Solving the palm trees took a million attempts to find just the right enclosing polygon with just the right density and falloff, while making everything in the project have the official heliport (estimated) elevation.
Uggh - getting golf course grass ended up being the easy part of the project.
I got my first SDK scenery project accepted
