Good places to fly a helicopter

What are the best places to fly a helicopter? I flew from E Midlands (EGNX) in the UK and followed the M1 and A52 to Derby, which was enjoyable but revealed how poor roads, bridges and houses are rendered when you get up close. But I’m sure there must be places are where getting up close to buildings isn’t so disappointing. My system is probably mid-range I11800H with RTX3060.

Any Major City with Photogrammetry is typically a good start. Your system should be fine running amok in London with a whirly bird.

That said, there’s going to be that hint of low quality everywhere. That’s just the nature of the AI Autogen. I was flying in the streets of New York City and there was graphical issues left and right. I mean the city still looked like the city it wasn’t horribly warped or anything but you could look down and notice the gates on that school look more like death spikes or that bridge isn’t really a bridge but a road with some wall looking things on it to look like a bridge. Still ran good.

Can also hit landmarks, wonders of the world…all the stuff you looked at from a Cessna in the last two years but now you can look at it from a helicopter

You should climb up volcanoes with an helicopter !
There’s plenty of them everywhere around the world, and I can assure you that landscapes are always stunning

I’ve been having an amazing time blasting the Jurassic Park theme song around Hawaii.

Also been “playing” Flight For Life with different hospitals in the Denver area. Landing on a highway and taking car crash victims to local hospitals with heli-pads.

Really enjoy mountain terrain. Some of the ski resorts such as Aspen and Telluride are right by their respective airports.
Firefighting operations in Idaho and Salmon River area.

Monument valley is a fun place to cruise around. Any large city as stated above. The world is your oyster have fun!

Here’s some nice options:

Freeware: helipad in the Alps Vol. 1 Version III » Microsoft Flight Simulator

Good for practicing landing in fairly tight spot nestled below a dam. Venture out into the valleys for some breathtaking scenery. Lots of other helipads in this pack.

Fly out to the reef and there’s a couple of small landing pontoons! Wish the reef textures were improved. Hamilton Island ain’t bad either

Thanks for some great suggestions. UK photogrammetry is often very poor for some reason so I’ll be trying these ideas.

Also, try Sossusvlei in Namibia. You will be flying among sandunes and desert. Take off from Sesriem and fly to Sossusvlei.

Man, I was truly disappointed to learn Isla Nubar wasn’t a real filming location. The actually “island” is made up of different shots of Costa Rica, Venezuela, Hawaii and Peru.

I think Rio De Janeiro is among the best places to fly a helicopter. Of course, nothing beats the night view of New York City as well.

Tokyo Japan ist supercool, with world update Japan installed you have around 80 Heliports on skyscrapers on the Photogrammerty buildings. Big ones and small ones, good place to practise

I thought you clip right through Photogrammetry buildings?

Gee, you were not kidding!! It’s amazing. I’ve only been here at night before. The city is so interesting and VAST, with lots of different looking regions and areas blending into each other. I could spend a week just flying around here in the Cabri.

And as you say, LOADS of helipads everywhere. Really good landing practice. Found some really nice spots over near Yokohama Bridge - some amazing detailed Photogrammetry there. And very good frame rates even on my creaking system.

They must have checked these by hand as I’m sure whenever I tried this before (not Tokyo) the skids go through the roof.

Thanks for your feedback,
today I was flying in London - and it seems that you can land on Photogrammetry Buildings but not on just indiviually cg modeled buildings without heliport- you just fly through
