What are some good resources to learn how to navigate using various planes’ navigation systems?
I’d love to learn how to use the basic Cessna nav radio, as well as how to use the functionality in the various GPS systems that other planes use

Hi @ FlyinJPetrol
Not sure if this is what you are looking for?
It’s a basic instrument flight from start to end. It’s the A2A 172 in FSX but I don’t think it’s much different from the non G1000 172 in MSFS.
If you’re looking for information on the G1000, this video from X-Plane is great but you should take into account that the G1000 in the 172 in MSFS is a work in progress and not everything works as in the X=Plane version.
IFR flying is a whole new world but I’d say most of the real world pilots, however experiences, started out on something like a Cessna 172 without GPS or moving maps. A basic 6 pack, 2 VOR’s and an ADF.
Flying IFR requires you to be able to control the airplane well. Doofer in the 1st video above has some 172 basic training videos but if you search YouTube you’ll find literally hundreds of them and I’m sure you’ll be able to find some to suite your style.
Good luck with your adventure. Happy to answer any questions you might have.
Thank you, these are exactly what I was looking for
You’re welcome. If we ever get so that two people can fly the same airplane if be more than happy to share an IFR flight with you.
Since installing I’ve been out in the 172 with the conventional guages and it really is starting to feel like the real thing.
