Got ATR-42 as career starting aircraft

:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

Yes, clean install. No addons. Problem still exists.

  1. Description of the issue:

After initial install of MSFS 2024, I started career at ESOW (Sweden). After the introduction by the instructor, I was sent out to check out the aircraft which is an ATR-42, not a Cessna 172.

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)

Only tried once.

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.

  1. Install MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe (I have ATR-72 from MSFS 2020 marketplace)
  2. Load career
  3. ATR-42 is loaded instead of Cessna 172.

No dev mode, no changes.

  1. [PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

DX12 (I think it’s the only thing available in 2024)

  1. [PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?

RTX 3080

  1. [PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

Intel i9-10900K, 64GB ram, 2TB ssd drive.

I tried re-starting career, ATR is still there instead of the Cessna. Can’t change the aircraft anywhere.

Oh, and a guy is sticking out of the roof. Very polished.

Hey, it just knows you’re cool enough to use an ATR at 1600’AGL for sightseeing.

Serious question tho - go to free flight, do you have a single engine piston in the aircraft list? All I had there was the M(300?)

I think you’re on to something. Free flight only has the ATR-42/72. That’s it.

My library says Premium Deluxe Upgrade is disabled, not sure if that’s the reason. Would expect the base/standard aircraft at least.

Did you find a way to load more aircraft?

Still working on that myself. I found a way to find the premium deluxe upgrade and click on it but there’s no ‘install’ button or anything. I thought I saw something about needing to restart so I exited to desktop and relaunching now back to 20% after 30min in the restart. And a loading taking too long report. Hmm. Glad I like popcorn :slight_smile:

Yea I restarted the sim once immediately after first install (also saw the notification about FS2020 stuff needing a restart). Still no luck unfortunately.

On the bright side it didn’t immediately CTD when it couldn’t find the right category and class airplane like the tech test build :slight_smile: I’ll post something if I figure out a way to get more stuff installed before it just works itself out after the initial wave of downloads. The preview test build loaded ultra fast.

For what it’s worth, I tried restarting yet another time and now I have more aircraft in Free Flight. Only handful though, and no Cessna 172. Also the ATR is now uninstalled :stuck_out_tongue: Starting career gives me the JMB VL-3, probably is the closest it could find to the Cessna.

I’ll just leave it for now. Will try booting it up again tomorrow see if it works better.

Tried again this morning, all good now. Must have been the initial server issues that caused me to not have the C172 in my library.
