GPU fan question

Hi guys..hope evrybody is fine and not struggling too much with all the issues…
i was able to get the version 1.18.15.0 after getting the xbox app as advised here in some threads.
new comp, new hwdq monitor, new cabled internet (400 mbps), …all that for this sim…
so now the results…and a few questions…
so the 1.18.15.0 is hotfix 2 included ..right .? ..supposed to fix the stutters ?

I5 10700 cpu 32 GB ram (crucial) but only like 12 gb used..normal i guess
nvidia rtx 2060… 100 % usage
rather performance than graphics…everything on mid level LOD 75 and only clouds and water on ultra..clear clouds and only 35 FPS limited by GPU and 75° temperature

sop, does it sound normal to you ?

btw, what is the max temp i can go without deteroring the gpu ? thanks

and i forgot…still stutters even in “not too busy” aeras

75°C is absolute ideal

I have all my fan curves set to 100% when CPU or anything has 70°C degrees, and nothing is overheating.
The graphics card has an allowance of 85°C before fans are set to 100% speed otherwise she get´s too loud.

To prevent further overheating (these kind of Radeon graphics cards are known for underperform VRAM cooling) the power consumption is reduced by -10 to -20% during suimmertime, and the VRAM is a little bit underclocked.

75-80°C is normal for a CPU or GPU during mid summer conditions and nothing to worry about.

A graphics card is automatically shutting down when having 90°C with a green-screen (the screen gets red and the computer starts beeping with the red graphics card LED failure light on on the mainboard.)

This must be prevented in any way possible so always have the window with the temp sensors open and have a steep fan-curve with maximum power-in for the graphics card limited up to -20 or -33% in midsummer depending how hot it gets. So if you have 30 or even 33 degrees celcius in your living room during midsummer in June or mid July a PC that is not watercooled starts to begin having cooling problems.
Especially when the side panel is closed and almost 85°C hot air is coming from the graphics card and freely swirling around inside the case preventing further downcooling and also significantly limiting the performance of the CPU cooler.

I know that you have a GeForce card but these cards will have similar tools for power and fan and clock controlling, so not much difference between Radeon and GeForce.

thanks a lot

75C is great for a modern GPU. Your card should last several years if that’s as high as it goes under load.

In terms of thermal throttling, above 80, negligible throttle but above 90, noticeable performance deterioration is to be expected.
