GPU Usage Extremely High on Settings Menu

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
GPU Usage is at 90% when just sitting on Settings menu. System fans running higher than they were in flight. Task manager shows little CPU and 90% GPU. In MSFS 2020 it’s usually idle.

Still does it with v-sync on, or is this the same as the old issue since 2020?

V-Sync is on. I can try turning it off. I fly in VR and use menus in 2D.

I could never get MSFS 2020 to push the GPU that hard, lol.

I disabled v-sync and now down to under 10%.

Spoke too soon, it’s cooking again in the settings menu with v-sync off.

I think what tricked me is the focus. It’s only when the sim is in focus that the menu goes full tilt.

If you open Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D settings, Add FlightSimulator24.exe then scroll down through the options to “Maximum Framerate” you can at least set a limiter so the menu no longer goes to 100000000 fps and consumes a ton of power.

The title on this report isn’t too accurate. I was seeing this on all menu screens.

I still do but after adding frame rate caps it seems to not be as intense.

Anyone get a fix to this? Never had the issue- stepped away from 2024 for a month. Came back, did a fresh install and no mods- load into menu and GPU useage is 90%+…. Sometimes even crashes the sim.

When navigating the menu, the GPU draws 100% power; this bug had previously been fixed. It has reappeared since SU 6… Please fix this.
