Depends on how you want to run it. A 1060 6 GB (which is a less powerful card) can run it on high/partially ultra pretty well, in 1080p with one monitor. A 1660 can absolutely do the same, but if you try to go up to 4K it’ll almost certainly struggle. VR may not work super well, I’m not too sure on that.

No VR . No 4K
Don’t play sim much and mostly ported over planes

Hello,
I moved your post to Self Service > PC & Hardware.

I use 1080p with Nvidia 1650.
The CPU is important too. It calculates all objects like houses and trees bevor the GPU can render it.

Thanks I ordered it

If you can stretch to a 1660 super or ti it would probably be worth it, I think the jump up in performance from regular 1660 will help in msfs, should be able to get a decent deal. I run a 1660ti and really happy with it, great for 1080p

This is what I orderd-
EVGA GEFORCE GTX1660 XC GAMING

I run an EVGA 1660ti at medium/high settings and generally get 30-40 fps at 3440 x 1440. This is with an i7-10700 at 4.8 and 32 gb ram at 3600.

I’ll definitely wait a while before replacing the video card. The boosts with 3000 series cards don’t seem worth the money at the moment.

1660 Super at 1440p here. Love it.

What is your cpu? It is equally important for this sim.

1660ti here (6gb) with a i7-10750 cpu. I run high and ultra settings and easily get 30-50fps @1080.

I believe the CPU does make a big difference though at 5ghz.

I would bet going higher on the resolution than 1080 would see big impacts on the frames though.

Well last night as I was sitting at pc thought I would open up the GPU and see what they look like on the inside. This has been in pc since 2015 when I built it. After tear apart I saw the paste under the (I guess little processor) was all dried out. Had some of that stuff so decided to clean up and put new pastes. Low & Behold the thing has been running now for 2 days and not a glitch. If it keeps going may have just saved $350… :slightly_smiling_face:
