Graphics settings on PC in relation to Xbox X

,

We are talking about 13900K and 40xx being almost necessary on PC, so I’m wondering how an Xbox X can run MSFS at 4K resolution and generate enough fps to be playable.

Anyone knows what settings on PC would relate to an Xbox X?

First of all, a 4 series graphics card isn’t exactly a requirement. I have a laptop with a 1650 mobile graphics chip and I run at 1080 resolution with an average of 30FPS. Do I have everything on Ultra? Not even - but I do have the things that make the biggest visual impact turned up and the things that don’t make much difference turned down. Some of those things that don’t make a big difference visually can make a real hit on frames, too. I haven’t gone through this list since before SU10, but it’s still a good start:

Render Scaling > 100
V-Sync > Off
DX Version > 11
Anti-Aliasing > TAA
Terrain LOD > 100
Off Screen Terrain Pre-caching > High
Terrain Vector Data > Ultra
Buildings > High
Trees > High
Grass/Bushes > High
Objects LOD > 100
Clouds > Ultra
Texture Resolution > Low
Anisotropic Filtering > 4x
Texture Supersampling > 4x4
Texture Synthesis > Low
Water Waves > High
Shadow Maps > 2048
Terrain Shadows > 128
Contact Shadows > Ultra
Windshield Effects > High (no glass screen reflections)
Ambient Occlusion > Ultra
Cubemap Reflections > 256
Raymarched Reflections > Ultra
Light Shafts > Ultra
Bloom > On
Depth of Field > Off
Motion Blur > Off
Lens Correction > Off
Lens Flare > Off
Glass Cockpit Refresh Rate > High

Hello @kaha300d,

Firstly, I can assure you that a 13900K and a 40xx series GPU are absolutely not necessary to run MSFS on PC. My own computer is below those specs, and I can run MSFS perfectly smoothly at 1440p with most graphics settings on Ultra.

Our Minimum, Recommended, and Ideal PC specs are listed in the table below:

I don’t know the exact settings, but the Xbox Series X version of Microsoft Flight Simulator uses a pre-defined combination of settings that are a mix of High and Ultra.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

My hardware is now 4 years old, a 9900K and a 2080TI. At 4K I think It should be able to at least perform like an Xbox X.

I’d really like to know what settings the Xbox uses. Is there a possibility to find out?
