I am puzzled as I have seen this effect in many remote parts of the world - but now take Greenland as a striking example:
-
Fly to the abandoned USAAF strip (no sim airport) Bluie East Two (65.940765, -36.678150) , Bing has it very well:
-
in the Sim World-Map zoomed-out it looks like Bing, see the old strip:
-
now we zoom into the map:
a bizarre overlay pops up - a diluvian “FSX landclass” structure: with non-existing trees (sic!), flattened glaciers, angular coastlines etc… -
this is reflected in the sim, trees galore, no air-strip, square-cut coast:
in flight at long distance or in fast forward you see Bing-Greenland as it should be (well, coarse), but the overlay pops when you close in, ruining everything.
My questions:
- why is that?
- who is the culprit, Azure?
- where does the enchanted forest come from? (grim reality: BLUIE EAST TWO - YouTube)
- will this change in the future i.e. bug or feature?
shaking the head…
