Are you on Steam or Microsoft Store version?:Microsoft
Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it? no
Brief description of the issue: only from a certain height (can’t be seen lower or higher), and it’s clearly oriented to north. It must be a kind of terrain grid we’re not supposed to see, it made the approach look so unrealistic
Location of issue: all over Germany (some have more lines some less) pic taken from EDDF Frankfurt
Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:
Can confirm. With community folder empty I can see these grid squares as well from a certain altitude. Here is an example from CYDL. Even with snow you can make them out
it’s a pretty hard to see graphical issue in most instances IMO. They either don’t know yet what’s causing it or it’s just low-priority and hasn’t been looked into yet
You can barely see some in the lighter taxiway just ahead of the plane, but it was really hard to make them visible. I think lighting might have an affect since I had to really position the camera and angle at the right spot to get them to appear
this is how approaching look like on ultra graphics, i hope the fix it, as it appears to be in front of where you looking and disappear when you reach a certain range, and u seem to have it only on the apron and runways, i have it allover the airport ( grass, runway and taxiway) maybe next update ill see it on the buildings who knows
Guys guys guys! I found a fix to it, go to Nvidia and ANISOTROP FILTERING PUT X16
it seem like that option on the game have no effect whatsoever about the graphics, so u must force it to x16 from Nvidia Panel try this pls i know how much it suck playing with grid allover the scenery, also use DX 11 to gain some fps
Sure you checked on snow? Cause this didn’t work for me, and I was excited too since just yesterday in my latest attempt to try and solve this issue I noticed my nVidia settings had 4x anisotropic filtering set and was like ■■■? So I set that to Application Controlled and that didn’t work so I was crushed again. Didn’t think to force it tho so I went and tried and… nope. Then I restarted the computer. Nope. Then I finally updated my drivers (haven’t since that fiasco late last year) and restarted again. Nope. Here are all my settings tell me if you have anything different. I’m running a 2060 Super and I also have an application setting profile for MSFS that is set to use all the values shown in the global settings.
I’m glad you got it fixed!
I marked your solution and moved your topic into the brand-new Community Support category because I see that others are still having problems. If anyone can help their fellow simmers with this issue, it would be appreciated!
this is the only setting i modified in Nvidia control Panel, make sure u are using program setting and not global settings
let me know if u have discord so we can talk in dms about this problem
No we should keep any info public and available for others here. I just tried to force 16x in the program settings and still this is what I see at places like LFLJ
this is how LFLJ looks from my side.
im using the good old GTX 1060, i don’t really think it has to do with the graphic card more than with the settings
try to put the anisotropic filtering off in the sim and x16 in Nvidia control panel
I think it was wrong to move the topic from the bugs category by any means. At least from my understanding one should not alter they settings to solve the bugs. The Sim should work as excepted regardless if the user settings are low or ultra. Also, I think that rising anisotropic filtering would increase the perfomance hit.
