GTX 1070 30 fps on low?

I have a GTX 1070 and a Ryzen 7 2700x with 16gb of ram.

All drivers are installed and windows is updated. Is there any reason why I am getting below 30 fps? I also noticed that my GPU’s utilization is only about 35% most of the time while flying. The higher utilization is, the higher the framerate is.

Microsoft Support was useless, and Reddit doesn’t know. Does anyone here know?

Is one of your processor threads maxed out?

I dont know, how would I find that out?

Which plane(s)? I’d say that’s unfortunately normal in the airliners. That’s about what I get in the A320/747, haven’t tried the 787.
TBM 930 is decent, but planes like the Icon A5 and Savage Cub works the best.

What screen resolution are you trying? I have a 1070 and most settings on ultra and am getting high 30s to low 40s at 1080p.

I had something weird like that happen during beta. Not sure if it will work, but give this a try. Just hit the “reset to defaults” at the bottom of page. It will only reset the default settings for display settings. Although, I knew I had a issue. I was getting 50fps then suddenly everything dropped to 20fps. I think there is a bug somewhere hiding in one of those display setting sliders.

Too little information really.

At what resolution and at what in-game graphics settings?

Also, are you running the latest version of Windows 10 (2004) and the latest Nvidia drivers.

Also it might help if you use the top right search function for forums , FPS fix or FPS issues GTX

You can see what has worked for other people

I’ve got a GTX 980 and i7-4790k with 16gb and I am pretty consistently at 30-35 at medium+ settings. Struggles more over big cities though. I’ve been very happy with that.

My GPU utilization is definitely over 35%. More like 80-95%. Sorry you’re having issues.

Edit: If you want my help in comparing any settings let me know. Happy to help.

I’m having a similar issue with my 1070Ti. GPU usage is at about 40%. Latest Nvidia drivers with latest version of Windows 10. CPU is Ryzen 3900x 32Gb 3200Mhz RAM

In which planes? They differ massively in performance. 20-25 vs 50-60 fps in the same areas, same weather etc.

1080p. But lowering the resolution didn’t really increase frame rate.

I’ll try that, thanks.

@Mughug7130 80p. Yes. Latest drivers.

@SirDanFlyBoy I’ll try that. Thanks.

I also have 30-40 frames, i7@8700 and 1070
Have a 27’’ display and 1080 isn’t really an option because native resulution of the display is 2540x1440. 1080 looks really bad.
Found out that the resulution lower/higher doesn’t have really an impact on frames. Vsync off on the other hand increases the FPS by 15
