GTX 1080 Ti VS RTX2060 Super Graphic anomolies

Hi,

So I recently bought a RTX2060 Super and I have had nothing but graphical issues. See below. It only happens in with the RTX not with the GTX and interestingly the GTX gives the same frame rates sans the Ray Tracing.

Not sure if these graphical issues are related to the RTX2060 in particular or what could be causing them, but such a wierd phenonomen.

I have gone back to the GTX for MSFS and give the RTX to my son for APex and Roadblocks,LOL.

Have you deleted your rolling cache?

I don’t think you’re seeing video card specific things. I’ve seen the terrain spikes and weird ground mapping issues - that’s a function of the scenery I believe.

Did you use DDU to uninstall the drivers of the GTX before a clean install of the RTX drivers? Also have you cleaned the DX shaders in windows?

These are not graphic artifacts, so I don’t think your GPU is the issue here. If you start seeing blocks, crazy colors, or random polygons, these would be actual GPU artifacts. This looks like an issue within MSFS itself, though not sure how this can be corrected.

note: so far I understood, all of this was fixed for the OP with clean the rolling cache

Nope thought the rolling cache delete worked, but it’s back, and it’s happening with my GTX now. Which means something is off. And prior to me swapping out my 1080 everything worked perfectly So I have reinstalled my 1080, done a full computer wipe reinstalled Wind 10 and reinstalled MSFS, and still getting these artefacts, which means it’s not computer/hardware/3rd party or even MSFS install as it’s all freshly installed.
So is it my cloud image that is corrupt?

Greetings -

looking at the screenshot seems to me your issue could be related to scenery non being streamed properly to the sim in the photogrammetry areas:

non-textured tiles at distance are photo tiles not properly loaded
Sidney map has some missing photo tiles that are replaced by the low-detail ‘offline’ ones
buildings/scenery 3D objects as ‘spikes’ are incomplete streamed objects

You may check for your internet connection speed and the MS servers response time (in drop down menu upper right near your avatar icon), maybe changing server to the lowest timing (faster response) could help

BTW I do have a GTX 1080ti GPU and can attest it works admirably in running MSFS, never had graphical glitches that I could point to it

Hope this helps
