Haifa (Israel) Port - Massive Generic Texture in Harbor

Brief description of the issue:

There is a section of the port of Haifa, Israel (specifically the “Hamifrat Seaport/Bayport Terminal” area) which is immediately north-northwest of the Haifa airport off the end of the runway that is not rendered by satellite photo coverage, and has a giant muddled generic texture in place, which results in what looks like either a jungle texture or just a displaced water texture with “floating” containers and cranes in the water. Bing maps accessible as of April 2024 on a web browser does have coverage of this area. This is a huge, significant harbor extension that ruins immersion when operating at the Haifa airport.

One thing to note is that Bing Maps in the sim is not identically the Bing Maps on the Microsoft Maps pages using a browser. The sim uses Bing data but has to go through a standardization process by the Dev team for sim use. As a result, some map areas may be older than what you see on the Internet pages.

That being said, this is what Bing Maps shows right now for the area NW of Haifa Airport.

I’m guessing you’re talking about this part in the sim (below) which per above should be a container yard?

The images in the sim appear to be older than what Bing Maps on the Internet has. That’s not a surprise - it’s entirely possible Bing Maps on the Internet has received updated satellite data, but because it’s not a real-time update with the sim, MSFS could be using older maps, which might show that area as undeveloped. Add into the mix whatever Blackshark.ai thinks should be there, and you could get situations like this.

Yes thank you, that’s exactly the error I’m seeing. (I also can add scenery products that overlay container objects on the generic texture, but the worst part is just that…the texture :slight_smile: )
