Hang on 6% VFS activation packages

I would like say something about this new simulatior msfs-2024 but can’t because it does not start. After the logo images and the video it hangs sistematically at 6% VFS Activation Packages going in CTD. On same PC I have MSFS2020 working. Guys, you support has no clue, I bought a Microsfot Software working on a Microsoft SO it is unacettable have so many problems. I will wait a couple of days and going to ask a refund

Have a look in the Event Viewer. If it is is actually crashing it will generate a log even there. It will be the Application Log you need to look for specifically.

It will be an Error level event, with Event Id 1000.

You may see some or more like this:

Faulting application name: FlightSimulator2024.exe, version: 1.3.7.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Faulting module name: FlightSimulator2024.exe, version: 1.3.7.0, time stamp: 0x00000000

Sadly the error code “0xc0000005” could mean a million things. In my case it was because I was playing around with a file that looks like it should control the filters on the map screen, but if its file length doesn’t match the size in the manifest file the sim falls over as it loads.

You can also run this PowerShell command to print them out:

Get-EventLog -LogName Application -EntryType Error -InstanceId 1000 -Message *Limitless*

Or this to print out the details of each one instead:

Get-EventLog -LogName Application -EntryType Error -InstanceId 1000 -Message *Limitless* | Select-Object -ExpandProperty Message

Well there are only two way to have this simulator working: extreme luck or a completly brand new high end PC with the last windows 11 virgin with nothing else installed. Ok, maybe in this case works. On same PC I have MFSF2020 that works so I have removed MSFS2024 and asked a refund.
