With some add-on aircraft, (PMDG, FBW) the orbit view in the hangar is grayed-out, missing.
Other aircraft (Carenado) work O.K., and so do the default MSFS ones…
?
My guess is that it’s something that’s enabled by the developer. If all of the default and even some of your addons do work, then the fault can’t be with the simulator. You’d need to discuss with the dev’s for the planes that don’t work.
That’s not a bug - it’s linked to the aircraft bounding box.
If the aircraft is too big the cams orbit cannot fit the hangar anymore and would clip through the hangars 3D model so this cam is deactivated.
This was the case from the start - it’s basically happening on all airliners larger than a CJ4 as fbw probably adjusted the aircraft dimensions this also takes place there.
On the default b748i you should also notice this.
It’s not a bug?
Then why switching from the huge 787 or 747 to the
737 or the A320 should not be possible?
Seems more like a wanted behavior, so no - I did a quick check on my end with the default aircraft and it’s the same for all aircraft larger than a CJ4. The Orbit view is locked on all of them:
Also on addon aircraft:
Zooming all way out on the CJ4 makes clear why they do so: if the camera would go further out it would clip through the stuff on the hangars ground and the ceiling. The basically limit the camera to an area around the aircraft to prevent this to happen:
All right, but if you exit the hangar, and get in again, the issue is resolved…
Nope, not on my end at least - still the orbital cam cannot be selected on bigger aircraft as likely intended.
Tested on: 748i, A32N, b737 and Ju52
Whatever. In any case, there is something wrong and missing here, all aircraft should be visible in all three views. If Carenado manages it, then so should the others manage it. Especially the ones for wich one pays a lot of money…
Did anyone ever figure this out? I have just run into the same problem. Notice not only is the orbit view greyed out, but I also, just like in the first post picture, the “change airplane”, “liveries” etc. are also missing. So, I can’t change the airplane check and I’m stuck on a CRJ700. this just happened and I wondered if I hit a wrong button somewhere?
Help please!
Okay, I fixed it. I opened addons linker and disabled all addon airplanes. When I reloaded MSFS 2000 it was back to normal. I assume I have one bad airplane so I’ll have to add them one by one until I find out.
