Hard to believe no KIAH payware

Do you know if this scenery will be coming to the Marketplace on MSFS soon?

We’ll likely send it to Microsoft for approval next week. No way to know exactly when it will be released.

Ok thanks!

is there a chance to have GSX Pro in the marketplace (PC) ?

Not possible unless Microsoft would eventually allow applications that depends on an external .EXE to work, to be sold in the Marketplace, at least in PC-only version. It’s the same reason why you can’t have something like the Fenix A320 there.

Note that, if you checked the GSX Changelog, you would see we had (on average), an update to GSX about every week, since it came out in August 2022. Some weeks we had multiple updates, in some cases we had more than an update on the same day!

This kind of pace is not really suitable for the Marketplace, which still has a queue of both new submission and updates to existing products, so it’s likely even if the product was hypothetically possible on the Marketplace, users buying it there would be frustrated very soon by the delay in getting updates compared to all the other users.

Those 4K ground textures look cool.

As promised, I’m off to buy it right now. Thanks for updating it so quickly!

I purchased this two days ago, and I’m pleased with the quality and performance. In my opinion, this is the best airport I’ve purchased at such a low price point, and I’ve purchased many. No, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of an Inibuilds KJFK, but it only costs 1/3 as much and is a great value.

Umberto – where can we find the changelogs for the FSDT airports? The installer only has the log for GSX… I saw there was another update for KIAH today and was wondering what changed.

Yes, you are right, we need to add a new feature in the Installer that will show specific changelogs for airports which would otherwise be buried into the GSX changelogs, and would likely be unnoticed.

The main change in version 1.0.3, is making the Apron polygons less transparent, which will result in seeing less of the underlying background image and more of the Apron texture, this will give the scenery a more clean look, and more perceived sharpness from a lower viewpoint, and there will be far less differences (if any) in the perceived resolution of the taxiway edges compared to the taxiway proper.

Other minor changes are:

  • adjustment of the shiness of some ground markings to be more coherent between each other and with the taxiway lines.

  • Another place for spotters has been better detailed, in addition to the one already existing.

  • A few tweaks on some parking sizes, to prevent A380s to park on C Gates.

FSDT Houston Intercontinental (KIAH) has been updated to 1.0.4 today, here’s the most notable changes:

  • A new way to do Static airplanes. We know you all hated that United plane converted from FSX in the two United maintenance areas, so we used the GSX engine to do something more interesting instead. The old static is gone and, in its place, two different United airplanes from your installed AI traffic packs will be generated, randomly, on each of the two maintenance hangars. At this time, GSX recognizes AI models from FSLTL, FS Traffic and AIG. The more AI models you have, the less chance to see the same airplane twice.

  • Added many ground markings. We added several ground marking which were missing, for example in the areas before the runway 15s hold short zones, but also many other related to ground vehicle traffic lanes. Some runway entry marking spots have been fixed too.

  • Apron textures improved, again. More color variations have been added to ground textures, to make it less repetitive.

  • New Animations. The large industrial ventilation shafts in the Central Cargo area has been remodeled and are now animated.

  • Some parking size tweaked. Several GA parking spots have been tweaked in the airport file for better AI flow.

  • Fixed animations. A couple of doors on Terminal B that were supposed to open during GSX Boarding/Deboarding operation were missing their animation, has now been fixed.

  • GSX Profile Updated. The included GSX profile has been updated for better operators assignments. As an example, you’ll only be served by United at Terminals B, C and E.

The 1.0.4 update can be downloaded from the FSDT Installer. Also, this is the version which has been submitted to Microsoft yesterday for the Marketplace.

I see that this is available in the Marketplace today (Xbox user here). Since you just submitted 1.0.4, I assume we have 1.0.3 version right now and the update will come out over the next few weeks?

I don’t think it’s available in the Marketplace yet. They added Houston KHOU airport by FSimStudios/Txn yesterday but that’s a different airport. Also I haven’t found KIAH in yesterday’s Development Update:

June 8th, 2023 Development Update - Microsoft Flight Simulator

And they sent v1.0.4 to Microsoft, so that is the version that will be available in the Marketplace eventually. That’s what I understood from Umberto’s post.

Have to say, unless you’re on console just buy it from the Dev direct. I really don’t understand this reluctance to do so :man_shrugging:t3:

This was just released on the Marketplace. Looking forward to it for us XBox users.

Great airport. Really well done! Always thought of FSDT as a tier just below FT, DD, or IniBuilds but KIAH has made me think otherwise.
