Hi Everyone,
Looking for some advice on potential upgrade or some tweets I can do myself with my current set up.
I am a PC noob so please take it easy. I understand MSFS has some demons at the moment with stuttering etc but would to know if I have my sim and settings configured correctly?
Secondly, what would be a good upgrade in regards to CPU Mobo and GPU and of course RAM?
I have attached some screenshot and you can see my RAM usage is through the roof along with my DISK.
Any ideas or fixes or even suggestion would be greatly appreciated

Your system is not bad. Maybe upgrade ram to 32Gig and upgrade cpu. I don’t think you will gain much though. Are you running 1080p?

Hey there! Looking at your pictures, it looks fine. Expect the sim to run with a high RAM usage, I have 16GB myself, I almost max it out all the time.
I see you are using a resolution (1680x1050), which is just below 1920x1080. Is your monitor able to do 1920x1080?
Apart from that, it looks like you have a mix of high/ultra settings, so you have tweaked the sim for what you wanted, so thats fine.
We wont be able to see much from the information you have provided, but i would assume you are CPU bottlenecked. The FPS counter in dev mode would show you that.

Also, is it possible to upgrade the ram without everything else?

Your full screen resolution in the graphics settings of the sim will indicate what your current resolution. You can change and see if it has any higher resolution.

Yes you certainly can upgrade just the ram.

Yes…and ask away,no problem. You need 32 gig of ddr4 ram.

if you want to buy 16GB more and stick em together with the current ones , make sure you get exactly the same ones, this will make sure you wont have sudden blue screens and such…

Ahh wasn’t aware that was an option!
DDR4 3200Mhz is the maximum ram speed your motherboard supports, make sure you first update your Bios to the latest. You should consider a 2x16Gb kit

8 core cpu, mother board to support 32 gigs ram
(At least 3000 mhz) I’d start with that

Not a cheap hobby!!!
Although the sim in a mess right now it might be worth upgrading to 32gb 3200mhz.
Later down the road I would suggest getting something like i9 9900k/i7 10700k.
Upgrading here from a 8400 to 10700k.
Once the hardware comes I will report the difference.
