Has anyone played X-plane or P3D after installing FS2020?

I was just wondering if anyone has gone back to those sims. I haven’t!

Sure I have. For all my airliner flying I use Prepared v5. MSFS at its present shape I use for rediscovering the fun of manual VFR/IFR flight.

Me neither…I already uninstalled P3D during the Beta…and I removed Xplane a couple of weeks after launch.
I was completely fed up with all the tweaking, add-ons etc to fix those sims.
Performance and visuals are much much better in MSFS2020. I do miss my helicopters, PMDG and A2A planes though.

I don’t have any regrets, although lately I see an increase in bugs in MSFS2020 since the last update. Things that were working fine in the past suddenly seem broken…and it’s giving me P3D flashbacks.
I really hope Asobo/Microsoft fixes these things with update 3.

Once. Saw the graphics, and had forgotten just how bad they are!

Absolutely. Multiple times.

I enjoy MFS for some leisurely VFR or simplistic IFR but that’s about it. It looks great but for my simulator desires it doesn’t cut the mustard yet.

I’ve invested a fair bit in P3D addons as well, and until they’re up to speed in MFS or there is an equivalent version available, I’ll still use a mix of P3D and MFS.

I fly more with X-Plane than FS2020, even VFR. My home town (Helsinki) have better landmarks in X-Plane (paid scenery). Main reason is VR, even you can use trackIR in FS2020. Additionally FS2020 have not helicopters.

I may uninstall X-Plane when FS2020 gets VR. There is community project which creates landmarks in Helsinki. Helis are not so important to me.

Absolutely. X-Plane for Zibo 737, the best !

95% P3D V4 & V5…which has a LOT of add ons…5% MSFS…keeping tabs on MSFS to see how it develops. Would probably spend a good deal more time with MSFS if companies such as A2A, PMDG, Milviz, Majestic etc had offerings. But as these appear to be a fair way off, I’ll stick with P3D as my go to sim. MSFS scenery in general, is very, very good by comparison, but my preference in sims, is the modelling of the systems and flight dynamics of the aircraft. Time will solve this issue with MSFS I am sure.

Absolutely! I really, really, really enjoy flying my FF Airbus A350XWB! That is, now that I’ve got is all sorted out. I also like getting a little Zibo time. Did I say how much I enjoy flying my A350? I just wish I could get it in MSFS.

P3D…? What’s that? I uninstalled P3D and X-Plane a long long time ago already: the last ‘sim’ that had to go was Aerofly FS 2: I had that one installed because it was easy to set up and I didn’t want to reinstall the other sims all over again after one of my computer resets. AFS2 also had nice performance and I couldn’t stand landclass anymore so… But AFS2 (in which I hardly flew anymore) was uninstalled after my first hour with the MSFS alpha. I even deleted all P3D/XP/ASF2-related files because I will never ever be using them again. The ONLY things I kept were the serials for all my P3D addons: you never know if they may come in handy one day. But other than that all other flight sims are completely and utterly dead to me.

Yes still fly x-plane purely because the airliners are much more realistic than msfs, and active sky is more accurate and reliable. But most of the flying is now on msfs because of the scenery.

Yes, mostly flying the 172 with a better G1000 and the ToLiss A321 to get some systems realism.
Also mostly in GB using ORBX Great Britain scenery. At high enough altitude I’d say it looks better than MSFS still. At low altitude MSFS wins by a mile.

Uninstalled it and same with AFS2, just MSFS2020

Still have X Plane, too much financial investment to just uninstall, although that may change as my SSD fills with MSFS updates.

I flew P3d for a while today, using ORBX True Earth in the UK. I also needed my Piper Warrior fix, an aircraft (and manufacturer) very lacking in MSFS 2020.

If ORBX did a global style product to give us the correct style of buildings, landmarks, airports, etc, inside MSFS 2020, it would be just what it needs.

For now, never went back to Xplane at the moment, still have some nice aircraft in Xplane but my finger keeps clicking MSFS 2020.

I use XPlane for airliners, frankly FS2020 is not even close atm

Fs2020 for VFR is great

You might want to try out this community mod for the G1000, it’s pretty slick! :small_airplane: :smiley_cat:

RIP…I just hope that the competitors stay in the market…the last thing our hobby needs is a one horse race

I have spent most time in DCS and P3D, rarely touch MSFS now since to me it’s just bugs, eye-candy and no substance. I do not consider MSFS to be a flight simulation by any stretch of the imagination.

I have now uninstalled MSFS altogether as I hate having Malware taking up space on my machine!
