The benefit of turning off the artificial sharpening is mostly noticeable in motion with the elimination of shimmering and jaggies, especially in the distance. But, I took two screenshots from the same altitude and zoomed in on them. You can clearly see an increase in aliasing on the sharpened image on the left versus the smoother image on the right. You also lose the weird cloud textures and green dots trailing off the leaves in trees that always seem to look like aliasing when in motion
