It would be nice to have an option for the plane to cast shadows on clouds.
And to see that thick intense shadows of the clouds on the ground during sunny middays.

Clouds already cast shadows, although not as detailed as in the photo you posted. But if you’re flying under a larger cloud you’re definitely in the shadows.
Nice ideas though.

I noticed this also. This would add a lot of depth to the sim, cloud shadows over water. Something’s missing without them.

I would reeeally appreciate some cloud shadows in flights like theese (and some ocean effects, also).
Reviving this wish after SU10.
In addition to shadows on clouds, there should be a “halo”, and even on grass you should be able to see a bright area surrounding the shadow

I think they should first make sure that clouds cast shadow on the airplane (and terrain for that matter), than the reverse.
It is quite ridiculous that every obscure knob in the cockpit casts a perfect shadow, but a cloud has to be a kilometer thick and wide before there’s any noticeable effect on lightning. Or that one can have 0 visibility inside a cloud but still sharp shadows in the cockpit.
