I have a computer with HDMI output but no USB C. Want to connect a Touch monitor with C input. Have not been able to find a cable solution that will work in that direction. Is this possible?
I don’t think it is. It may be possible to find a cheap converter box though.
This sort of thing.
If the monitor is just USB C (for video and touch in one connection), then all you would need is an adapter or appropriate cable to convert it from USB Type C to A for your laptop. Just make sure you plug it into a fast enough port to support the resolution of the screen (i.e. USB 3.1). Ports should be marked with SS or SS10 to indicate speed.
There is a DisplayPort to C cable. Ordered one, should be here Thursday. Will report back.
