I have the same specs as OP and the original Crystal. I can replicate the crash to desktop with HDR enabled, with it off works fine.

  • Yes I can reproduce the same issue with the Pimax Crystal Light

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• When I enable HDR in windows display settings then go into MSFS 2024 and Enable foveated rendering I get an immediate CTD. Temporary fix is to disable HDR in Windows entirely. I can replicate the issue every time I enable HDR in windows along with Foveated rendering in MSFS 2024

I am here encountered this issue without VR.
Just enabled HDR10 ON in fs24 and load a flight. 90% CTD before clicking ready to fly.

Same for me. HDR on (system settings on PC) and Foveated Rendering on (in game) = instant CTD on entering VR. No HDR=no crash.

I also can confirm - when HDR is enabled then MS Flighty crashes to windows ( when new option SU2 FFR is enabled ) when I turnned off HDR everything works.

Was driving me mad. I tried everything including re-installing Sim. Disabled HDR in Sim to no Avail. But, This works and fixes the issue.

Same here. Only thing fixing the instant CTD when switching to VR with my Pimax Crystal Light and 4090 system was to turn off HDR in Windows11 and also in the game. Some AutoHDR overlay was appearing at the moment of switching to VR that may cause the crash, in my opinion. Thanks and very good find

Haven’t tested that, but good point - another workaround may be to have global HDR enabled but disable autoHDR and then disable proper HDR in game. That may allow you to keep HDR at a system level until this is resolved.

Works for me on a Reverb G2.
