Just to let you know that when loading into the plane you are greeted with a head tracking message even though i wasn’t using any. easy to get past the message but just annoying.
I have the same, this happens to the first plane I select to fly and it disables my mouse in the game. If I press Alt+8 or if I disable Tobii (which is present in my settings despite I do not have it in my system at all - all I have is a camera) and load another plane this does not appear again during the current session. Disabling Tobii and saving does not help after I restart the Sim - with every new start this appears again. My settings are here
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
Can confirm the message appears on the first aircraft loaded regardless of whether the Tobii controllers are deactivated. Two Tobii controllers show up in my settings - I don’t know why because I don’t own one.
The message does not appear on subsequent flight loads during the same session. I have tested with two different aircraft, the default C152, and the Black Square B36TP.
I got this message the first time I loaded the sim after today’s update, despite not having any head tracker active or connected. I usually use an IR head tracker that interfaces to the sim via OpenTrack software; prior to SU5 Beta, and going back to MSFS 2020, when I ran OpenTrack, the sim identified it as “TrackIR”.
Today, during my first load of the sim, I was not running OpenTrack. I was presented with this dialog and could not get past it. The key combination presented was ALT + F8. That key combo was not recognized by the sim and I could not even press ESC to get to a sim menu and change it. I had to force-quit the sim.
On a second load of the sim, I was running OpenTrack for my head tracker. I went into the sim Controls settings and changed my keyboard profile from the my usual custom profile to the sim’s “2024 Transversal”. After that I went back to Free Flight again. I was again presented with this menu but the key combo was SHIFT + Spacebar. This time my keypresses were recognized and I was abe to start a flight.
This is an interesting datapoint indeed, @NixonRedgrave. Have you tried disconnecting all your USB devices from your desktop and relaunching the sim to see if you still get the error? It might narrow down the cause if it’s linked to having one particular device connected.
I felt indicating as such was potentially helpful in narrowing down what might be a cause, such as specific peripherals I do not have connected to this PC.
I have loads of peripherals, including both Tobi and a VR headset (both disabled when started yesterday) and I haven’t seen the message even once between various restarts and flights.
Not sure if related. I had the message as well even though I use opentrack externally. I use Vjoy to support my pedals (I use racing pedals with a merged axis through UCR outputted into Vjoy). In 2020 and previous builds of 2024, Vjoy would be displayed as Vjoy device. Beta seems to be having a conflict with Vjoy now. I now have a Tobii_1 and Tobii_2 listed in my controllers. Tobii_1 seems to be my old Vjoy device. Tobii_2 I have no idea, as there are no inputs assigned.
Unfortunately Vjoy through the Tobii_1 device doesn’t work properly. It is broken.
I have reverted back to SU4 and it now shows as Vjoy device and my pedals work fine again.
The developers have broken something with what looks like a Tobii implementation. It is picking up other devices and causing conflicts. PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE WHATEVER IS CAUSING THIS IN THE SU5 RELEASE!!! This will affect thousands of people who use the likes of Vjoy for various controllers.
Good question. I do not use Vjoy, however I have installed the ViewTacker from Steam (but never used it with FS2024). I do not remember If it works via Vjoy.
