Heading Increment Bug (10 degree instead of 1) Explained

I have a gear lever… luckily when I designed it I made it with 3 positions for russian planes that have a neutral… butany other switch with On positions I cannot use in flight on some planes while trying to make adjustments…

While I totally agree with you that we shouldn’t be forced to be looking at workarounds - and certainly not for ‘recommended hardware’ - the reality is, at the moment we are. The only alternative would be to sit it out waiting for a fix, loosing all fun with the sim in the meantime. I’d rather not do that, especially given the fact, that the bug seems to have been around MSFS for a long time.

Of course, next fo finding workarounds, we should never stop to ‘pester’ the devs for rectification :slightly_smiling_face:

or if we say it in other (sarcasm) words: buy a xbox controller which not have such switches and issue is gone :joy:
I currently not miss these switches. Why ? MSFS airplanes have so less amount of simulated switches (which really do some thing), that its useless for me to use this. I need my Hotas for the A10C in DCS, but MSFS is just a game at this moment. It is a shame for a game which it self calls “simulator”, but it is as it is and personaly I enjoy the other parts of MSFS.
We can bring the thread from time to time up, so that we get Votes here and possible in future we have these necessary feature (one of) for a flight-sim.

The silence from the devs on this issue is infuriating. They say in the dev q&a to give them reports and zen desk tickets that are reproducible, which we have done, and we don’t hear a thing about this bug that effects their “recommended” hardware.

Yeah it seems especially ironic now that honeycomb is their official partner. I have actually filed a support request with honeycomb, asking if they can help with making sure there product is usuable in msfs, especially since I’m afraid the same will happen with the throttle.

Yes it happens with the Bravo throttle too.

Heading & course in 10° increments, and altitude in 1000ft increments. Electronic pitch trim speed is also multiplied to be unrealistically fast, though it’s less of an issue as the trim wheel is so good.

That’s sad to hear, I’m expecting my throttle next month, so hopefully we will finally have a solution by then..

Have you figured this out? I cleared the inputs for EVERYTHING on my bravo except the thruster controls and using my mouse I can still only move in increments of 10 or 1000… hell, I can’t even get the autopilot cluster on the bravo to work.

And I’m blaming this one on Asobo - there’s no way Honeycomb Aeronautical messed this up.

No, there’s no fix yet. Just living with the increment bug until it’s resolved properly.

I’m blaming it on Asobo too, just hoping that a friendly nudge from Honeycomb will speed things up a bit more.

Have you gotten the autopilot panel working in general? With the A32NX mod, the only thing working correctly was altitude adjustments for me so I ended up clearing all of them to use the mouse which is a huge disappointment… but I may be totally doing something wrong here.

Hiya, have to disagree a tad about the use of the switches, especially, for folk flying GA. I don’t use Track IR, so landing lights, strobes off on runway vacate, for example, is so much more immersive with the hardware switches than fickering with views (and bouncing off into the grass ).

I totally agree with your other comments 110%

Still waiting for my Bravo and wondering if it this supported hardware will have any functions other than throttles without work-arounds :unamused:

I might be very wrong on this but I think Aerosoft are writing and handling the driver packages for Honeycomb - surely required for the Bravo A/P, gear lights if not the standard HID stuff.

I really am beginning to wonder if Aerosoft are having issues with the drivers for MSFS, there seems to be a lack of news! Yes, I am speculating, I should not do that really

Hopefully, Aerosoft and Honeycomb are bashing some ears at Asobo, we can but hope!

I thought Aerosoft was just a reseller / support platform. I’d assume Honeycomb themselves make the drivers where necessary (because the yoke doesn’t require additional downloads for MSFS).

Honestly I am not 100% sure but I do remember hearing this and I think it was on a YouTube interviewing the head guy at Aerosoft (again, could be wrong) but I do remember discussion about why the CRJ had been delayed in the same segment (SDK woes was the answer). Most of the release info is on Aerosofts forums, and Honeycombs driver downloads page lists files but these are links to aerosoft servers directly.

Random link copied from https://flyhoneycomb.com/pages/drivers (all point to same server)
{http://freeware.aerosoft.com/forum/downloads/AS_HONEYCOMB_XP11_WIN_V2.zip}

A driver package would help the Yoke if Asobo never fix the ‘always on bug’ and save users from long convulated workarounds - at least the switches would be usable then.

Either way, decent drivers will certainly be needed for the Bravo TQ (gear indication, autopilot, announciator panel and probably per sim?). I would trust Aerosoft to build, update and upgrade far faster than Asobo (to be kind I’ll add, given their priorities and workload) but that might not help users of other hardware much. (A good case for Asobo to fix it in the sim!).

Has Asobo publicly acknowledged this issue in any way, shape or form yet? I don’t watch the dev Q&As, has it been asked or mentioned there?

I found the culprit somewhere here in the forum ive created a video on the issues and workaround using fsuipc7 though for more advance settings but can be used with other hardware

Today I bought a new Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant and TCA Sidestick and was horrified to find that if the button is constantly pressed, I cannot set the exact altitude, after reading the forum I realized that this problem has been observed for a very long time and the developer is not doing anything at all. A nightmare. Does Asobo have its own joysticks? to see the problem. Why haven’t they fixed it yet? I am very upset with the overall situation. I wrote them an appeal to technical support. Their answer is interesting.

Its terrible. And some people sit here and say that it is a feature. No it is not. In the M20R which I just bought, the heading bug will not move less than 10 degrees. Even with a mouse click. Unacceptable.
