Headphones with VR

I have a quest 3 and in the beginning I was using the original headstrap that came with the quest 3 and headphones. After getting a more comfortable but bigger strap, I can no longer put the headphones outside the headstrap, and having it under is uncomfortable. So changed to in ear headphones, but the sound is much worse. So that makes me think. How does people handle sound with VR? The VR headset speakers, headphones, in-ear headphones or something else?

There are a LOT of options when it comes to in ear headphones. Check this guy out for starters. My Valve Index headphones are still hard to improve on, but the right $30 IEM’s can beat out much more expensive kit.

I either use over-ear Bluetooth headphones with the original head strap, or I use the dual audio output feature in Virtual Desktop and connect a small subwoofer to the PC’s headphone jack—in addition to the Quest 3 speakers!

I am using a set of JBL Quantum 600’s with my Quest 3 and a halo strap. Works perfectly fine, the headset kind of offsets the front weight of the quest too.
