Considering approaching the scary world of multiplayer.. 
I don’t currently have a PC headset/mic, what are you using and what’s good?
I don’t think I want in ear/buds etc.
These days I use a Steelseries Arctis Nova 7. It’s wireless, so there is battery charging involved, but the battery lasts for multiple sessions. They have good sound, good mic, sideband (you can hear yourself speak in the headphones, if you want to) while being closed-back so they don’t leak sound to the environment. They’re comfortable, have circumaural (round the ear) pads, and there are plenty of aftermarket pads available if you want something else like velour pads.
I used to use Sennheiser wired headsets - I’ve got a PC360 which is excellent, but I’m not sure they still make those.
Would happily recommend both.
Corsair HS65, wired, with a bit more affordable price tag. No reported issues so far, sound and transmit voice very well.
I have the Corsair HS80 wireless. It works well.
Can run wired or wireless. I use iCue for some of my RGB fan lighting, mouse, and headset, and wireless works great.
Corsair HX80 which were used once and are a standby pair, and the Steelseries Arctis Pro 9 which were a pig to get running again with Win 11 but now are and are very good indeed. Only really use them for MP comms with Teamspeak, but the bluetooth side let’s me listen to music whilst I fly. For all around comfort though, the Bose QC Ultra that I use for everything else is brilliant.
