I remember those days/times well
Iāve been using this calculator for some time
For the A320neo, it would be interesting to see how the outputs of these various tools compare (including the V-speed auto-populate function in the MCDU) ā ie put the same aircraft / airport / runway / weather data into all of them and see what they compute.
They differ between the calculator I posted and what the MCDU populates. Not too far off though. Itās nice to get a FLEX temp for longer flights when trying to conserve fuel
I canāt get the altitude and sometimes the speed to work properly on the A330-900neo.
When I first bought it, everything was fine, but after that everything went downhill.
7 hours in my first flight, from Frankfurt to Atlanta, almost to Atlanta, my autopilot wouldnāt work, and I had to land in a field.
Second flight, Dubai - Los Angeles, over Canada my flaps mal-functioned and it crashed me. fourth flight, Milan, Italy, to New York, USA, right after take-off, my altitude for autopilot didnāt work, causing me to hit a hill.
If you could help, please do. This is my only long-haul airliner with liveries.
Thanks
-Kyle.
Maybe youāre using LVFR instead of Headwind? Headwind is freeā¦ And I never heard of such issues. Never had any problems with it.
Neither have I ever had any such issue with it. I once flew it from OāHare to Helsinki, racing my brother who was actually, in reality traveling that route in a Finnair A330-300. If I remember correctly, it took around 9 hours for that flight. In the end I beat him by a few minutes.
Cheers!
anyone still flying the headwind A30 neo ?
re they still alive ? is the aircraft any good ?
thanks
They did just release a new version of the Headwind installer, so they must still be around. I canāt say Iāve flown it in a long time though.
They are in the midst of a massive overhaul to the 3D model. You can follow on their Discord server.

Not perfect, but far better than some payware (LVFR, recent Aerosoft). Exterior model is quite good, the interior (cockpit) is the one from the FBW A320N, but with data adapted to the A330 weights and payload. The thrust levers and the landing gear indicator lights are the ones from the A320, but itās great to fly, as long as you donāt use RNAV approaches.
One of my favorites. I fly it frequently.
I did a simulated post V1 engine-out at MTOW (eg 242t - 251t) , and the Headwind A330-900 wonāt climb! It just gradually sinks and crashes.
Whereas the real aircraft does climb on one engine at MTOW ā as all twin engine airliners must be able to do.
HWS just posted an announcement on their Discord server that due to the release of the next stable version of the FBW A320N HWS now start working in their next update.
Due to slower development in the past few months (as previously announced), we couldnāt incorporate every new feature and change as quickly as usual. However, weāre leveraging every available resource to integrate these updates as soon as possible and hope to have the latest release version ready well before the MSFS 2024 release.
