By this I mean the helicopter is dropped onto the ground and then bounces around until a crash is recorded at which time the mission is failed immediately. This results in reduction of the pilot’s “status” and other negative results.
This seems to happen most often when a helicopter has just been relocated to a new area (sometimes at great expense).
Also locks up the screen on the “Return To Main Menu” selection forcing a reboot of the sim.
I’ve gone from A down to C reputation just testing it.
Completely killed my progress and now every helicopter in the sim is bouncing on any mission crashing it so that Career Mode is completely useless to me at the moment.
Very, very frustrating.
OK so I found a potential workaround… it’s not pretty but it seemed to work. I went into a chopper challenge mission (which… i dunno, reset the altitude or something) and the next spawn i did was tip top…

couldn’t even return to the main menu and after closing the sim with alt-f4 now my reputation has dropped dramatically.
It worked for me too! I was stuck with this bug for 2 hours and crashed 6 times and this saved me.

Description of the issue:
Helicopters bouncing around on skids at the start of missions (even inside the hangar). Appears to be after they’ve been moved from one location to another with a different elevation. Many times bounces so wildly it crashes, then the mission stops. Many times the sim crashes then as well when attempting to return to the Headquarters screen.

No mods. Nothing in community folder.
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Once it starts, seems to happen on every subsequent mission.

• Only happening for me on player owned helicopters.

• Can upload footage when past “New User” restriction. Video shows helicopter bouncing wildly during Pilot walk up scene, a quick fade to black via “Skip to take-off,” then helicopter boucing during passenger arrival and when player is given control for startup. Clip ends before helicopter is destroyed in a crash.
Adding to this might helps some:
I got this to stop (I think) by going into Free Flight in the area where my helicopter is hangar’d and flew around for a bit and landed.
Then went back into missions and voila … suddenly my helicopter wasn’t bouncing around any more.
I think maybe this bug is related to moving the helicopter from high-altitude regions to lower ones and maybe it’s updating its “ground” location and because the skids are bouncy, it’s causing the bouncing.
Just a theory.
Yes this is happening to me as well. I have not been able to play a career mission in a few days and with all the bugs I experience in the other missions it has made it almost impossible to make any meaningful income. Please fix this!
I tried you solution and it seems to work for my employee career missions sold my heli as it would get smashed every time I start a freelance job basically bankrupting me so have not tried freelance yet.

Description of the issue:
All Helicopters are bouncing around in the pre-flight hanger and also in the flight before take off. When you try to load a flight up the helicopters will instantly jump up and crash causing rep loss and forcing a restart that does not fix anything. This is happening in both career and freeflight. Making the game impossible to play with helicopters.

• I have the same issue, but only occurring in the business hangar prior to a freelance flight. Instant crash upon accepting mission. All missions with the G2 start like this.

It happened after moving a helicopter from an altitude airport to the LIMA airport in west italia.

• Intermittent. Not specific to helicopter variant. I experienced the issue with the H125 under multiple variants, even moving across the world to try different locations. Still had the same effect.

No - BTW I use “realistic” controls, no assist. Bell 407 flies nicely. All tests done in Free Flight mode.

Started all the following on the runway:
Bell 407 - it flies normally, can slow take-off, hover and land, no bouncing.
Guimbal Cabri G2- Stable on runway. But in flight it is very twitchy, not flyable.
H125 - Stable on runway, also twitchy, flyable but way too sensitive.
S64F Skycrane - Stable on runway, easy control.
Robinson R66 Turbine - Stable on runway, won’t fly.
Could not increase throttle to power it up.

• H125 bounces and crashes before it even spawns. Both in my employee and freelance mode. Lost more than 20k credits in repairs and now from hi A to low B reputation without having credits to further repair my helicopter. It was working fine and then started next freelance and thats all she wrote.
