As a scenery dev who has produced over 50 sceneries I can tell you this issue is not a bug, it is how the dev created the scenery.
There are two types of heli parking in the SDK that players can choose from the GUI to spawn onto.
Helipad
Helicopter Parking
Both can be configured to show a landing circle or H or a combination of both. Both can be placed anywhere and both can be configured to be transparent, depending on the dev’s choice and how they want to present it on the landscape.
However, they differ in that only #2 allows a cold spawn.
Some dev’s on flightsim.to may have placed the wrong type, or simply don’t know the difference. Older scenery may have existed before option 2 became available. As for me, I never use option 1 in my scenery.
Don’t ask me why option 1 is a hot spawn, it never made sense but now you all know.
Hi, good to know.However how to distinguish between the two in the sim? Sometime I may want to do an hotstart and others a cold ones and would like to chose an helipad in accordance to the choice. (if possible).. On your scenery is it possible to do a hotstart?
I’d like to kindly ask if you would be willing to share some of your sceneries that include Helicopter Parking spots.
I recently learned that some helicopters may have issues when starting cold and dark anywhere other than a proper helipad or designated parking spot. I’d like to do some testing on my end and see how different helicopters behave in this scenario.

Meaning YOU choose them when deciding where to spawn. If it says HELIPAD XX then it will be a hot start. If it says HELICOPTER PARKING XX it is a cold start.
As for my scenery, just look on FS.TO website and search for CoolGunS. All my scenery has option 2.
