Help, cant get VOR to work

Hi I am using the default Cessna 152, and I followed the great video by Jonathan Becket https://youtu.be/nu0qU7s8m5Y?si=xXvwue7dmAfluit6.

I am using the exact frequencies but I am getting nothing at all on the top Nav and while the line is being displayed on the bottom, its only moving if I adjust the OBS bearing, not by turning the aircraft.

Google just displays two real options, 1 re-instal MSFS and the other is that perhaps the Vor has been shut down? Any ideas if I am doing something wrong or if there is an issue?

What is the name of the VOR tuned on the top? That video was published 2 years ago and VORs are being decommissioned left and right. As for the bottom it will start to move as you get closer to the radial that you have selected with the OBS.

keep in mind that video is 2 years old, vor stations are being taken down at a frantic pace and there are less everyday, and this is reflected in the sim (but not on the world map), so it is very likely you will run into vors that are no longer there

this is correct, the needle doesnt move when you turn the aircraft, only when you move the aircraft in the proper direction

Are you saying the world map is not showing navaids from the installed AIRAC data?

im saying the world map shows vor stations that have been decommissioned irl
cant speak for other navaids or fixes

The frequency changed. Try 113.05.

How far are you from the station? You may not be high enough to receive the signal. Try slewing higher and see if that makes a difference. The CDI needle will never move based on the aircraft’s current heading. The instrument only shows if you are on the radial or not.

Thank you for this. I was able to see the line move as I turned the aircraft using the correct Frequency. Now I have the confidence its all working I will go and play in the UK and see if I can get as good results
