Help Rolling cache took alot of ssd spce!

So i created a 300Gb cache on the ssd but want to lower the number.
To my very big suprise that is not poscible in FS2024!

I looked online and someone explained on youtube that you needed to create a folder with new name for Rolling cache and then select that folder.
The standard Rolling cache sice should revert back to normal…but it didn,t and i get a messages as well that lowering cache number was not possible.

Then i read that one should delete the cache folder manully and reinstall FS2024.
That also did not work.

Now so after doing this a couple of times making a new Rolling Cache folder and manual keeping deleting it to no avail, i suddenly see that my ssd space has been drasticly reduces in size.
Lost more then 1.5Gb drive space.

Unbelievable, while FS2020 was so easy to do!

How do i restore this and most importand, how do i get al my ssd drive space back.
I really hate this kind of stuff where things are changed , but without any warning you cannot revert back.
Even more create even bigger problems losoing alot of ssd space and can spend the whole weekend or longer solving it if even possible!
Sorry to say but these things really should not be allowed to happen.

Pretty upset to say the least…

If locking 1.5 Gb ‘drastically’ reduces your SSD disk space, you might have started with a very small disk?

Removing FS24 from your system and than removing any folders that might be left really should solve the issue. I did that myself after entering one 0 too many on the rolling cache setting. Just make sure you do it with Admin rights and reboot after de-installing.

I had this problem and was able to resolve by creating a smaller cache on a different drive, starting a flight, and exiting the SIM. Then repeating on the original drive with the size I wanted.

Another bit of silliness that worked fine in 2020.

I played with this the other day and yes, made a new rolling cache location, then run the game select the new location, let it do its thing, exit the game, delete the file in the new directory, load the game, game makes default size new cache, change that to the size I want.

I don’t know why they can’t give us a delete cache option like in 2020.

P.S. If 1.5GB is causing you issues then you seriously need to get a bigger drive.

SOLVED!

Thanks for all your reactions!

I had a few rollin g cache folders at different places, deleted them and i got the space on the ssd back instantly.
Also deleting rolling cache and back into FS2024 again reset the cache back to 16Gb.
