Hello Guys and Gals
I will try to describe this annoyance to the best of my ability. Bear over with me!
Lately when I’m in the cockpit of the new Cirus SR22, and I’m looking around in the cockpit with the mouse or Tobii Eye Tracker 5. Lets say I’m looking a little under the horizon at the MFD, and look either to the left or right over the wing. I move the Camera with my mouse horizontal, but the view also looks downwards when moving the camera i don’t input vertical mouse movement. The samme happens when looking over the horizon, but when then the camera move upward when looking to the sides.
Do anyone know why this is happening?
I don’t really know the answer to your problem because I don’t know your exact set up. However, I do know that if I, for any reason, want to use Freelook and the mouse (usually for view stability to operate a control or switch), I pause the Tobii, open Freelook and do what I want to do and (important it seems to me) return the Freelook view to the neutral position, close the Freelook camera and restart the Tobii. That process seems to avoid conflict.
I have tanken another look at it. Do you have the Sirrus SR22?
If I’m in the cockpit and use the arrow keys to look left or right the same thing happens. I don’t think it has any thing to do with my setup. I think it’s specific to the SR22. It does not happen in the C172. Could you see if the same happens for you?
I don’t have the Cirrus SR22 no, looks like a cool aircraft though. Are you saying that you get the same effect whether using the Freelook camera or the Tobii 5?
Yes no matter what i do the same thing happens, but i have found the culprit. I went to SR22 folder where there is a file called cameras.cfg. I found a line where the were 2 axis at 0 degrees, and 1 at minus 10. I set the last one to 0 like the others, and the wired behavior is gone and working correctly
Nice work DrFeelgood. It is very satisfying when you dig deep and resolve annoying little problems like this one.
I notice from reading threads about the Cirrus that there was an update for the aircraft included in SU14 and that this has lead to several minor bugs and this seems to be one of them. They do ask that, if you find a Cirrus related bug, it is posted as a separate thread, so it might be worth editing the title of your thread to include the relationship to the Cirrus so that other Cirrus flyers can benefit from your good work.
