Good day,
I need some assistance with Flypt Mover for my 2DOF rig.
All controls are inverted and i’m not sure what i’m doing wrong. When i pitch down on my joystick, the rig pitches up, same for roll, i roll right on my joystick, the rig rolls left !
Here’s the rig parameter screenshot, many thanks
can you upload your .mover file? seems you have a lot of poses where you only need one
Thanks smitty9792, i’ll upload my file once i get back home. That’ll be on the 22nd Dec. I’m currently travelling.
But you are right, i copied the file from one which i got on the internet and this was the only one which i found. I thought i could directly adapt it to my rig.
This is the platform, a simple one with 2dof. The motors are at the back.
The platform is a work in progress, i still ned to finish the enclosure and fix a seat, etc.
no problem, and as far as motion directions go, braking after landing should tip you forward, and turning right (while taxiing on ground) will tip you LEFT. think about it- in your car making a fast sharp right turn, if you unbuckled your seatbelt, which door would you get tossed out of? turning while flying wont be as obvious, if you are properly coordinated with pedals you shouldnt tip sideways at all (other than the initial cue)

Hello Smitty, Happy New year 2025. I just got back home.
Here’s my mover file:
The link is valid for 6 days. I’ll re-upload it if required.
Thanks a lot for your help.
ok got it.
i’ll edit the mover file to work right. at first glance you have a whole bunch of unnecessary poses, and the green “forward” axis is pointing as if the motors are at the front
ok, give this one a shot. i got the 3d viewer correct, note how the green line point to front. Also, the center Ujoint is a bit lower than the rod attachments, i guessed 70mm but adjust that to your real measurement. also that meant moving the motor up to -200 (from center ujoint)
when you try in sim, just start by taxiing around slowly to determine if motor directions are correct.
- throttle should lean you back.
- brakes should lean you forward.
- a LEFT turn on the ground will lean RIGHT.
- in the air, pushing LEFT pedal fully (maintain level flight) will lean RIGHT
if forward/back are OK but left/right are reversed, then maybe just switch the A/B axes in the output module string. if forward/back are opposite, try switching the crank vertical angles & swap checkboxes in the rig.
i got rid of all the extra poses. you dont need em. i re-made the runway noise pose, and made 1 additional pitch pose, from vertical G forces, so if you bank hard and yank back on the stick for a tight turn, itll lean back some more.
Heres the new mover file. i also included setup for a new motion rig software - Departed Reality Sim Manager. Welcome | DR Sim Manager
It’s a LOT simpler than flypt, and i’ve been using it instead lately. the .json file included has pretty much the same numbers as flypt but it calculated limits weird- adjust to what is possible on your rig. youll have to add your serial output.

also - found out that you can gain a few degrees of travel if you make the crank center 23deg up toward the front

Thank you very much Smitty. Really appreciate your time and effort to assist me. I’ll try the file over the weekend.
I’ll also give the DR Sim Manager a try, i could see that there’s a demo on the website. If it works fine, i’ll go for it as i need a simpler interface to work with.
middle value to 23 deg, thanks - got it.
if you try DRSM switch these numbers from the file i gave you. youll know its correct if when you click calculate, the +/- pitch are nearly the same

Thanks a lot Smitty, the mover file works well and you’ve made it a lot simpler to configure
