When I installed the Update and run MSFS2020 my Rift S worked straight away without having to do anything. It had the stencil so I did what was advised on the forum, downloaded and installed the Beta. Now MSFS says No Headset Detected. I uninstalled Oculus then reinstalled without the Beta same thing no headset detected. So for the third time I’ve uninstalled reinstalled Oculus with the Beta and Still No Headset Detected. I’m giving up today and I’ll leave it 'til after Boxing Day hopefully a few other people smarter than me will have had the same problem and know the fix for it.
Exact same issue. I was flying in VR 7 hours ago and now it won’t detect my headset. I can fly in X-Plane so it’s not my Rift S - it’s MSFS
We’re on lockdown so MSFS in vr WAS my Christmas! lol
Asobo should be fixing this…
Yeah same exact issue as well, also have the rift s of course. Never a good sign when this is the only forum post I find about an issue hahaha. Hopefully they’ll get it fixed soon enough!
Same here. Working fine earlier. Now “No Headset detected”. Headset working as normal in all other software. Restarted computer same problem. Hopefully they are onto it. What I saw looked good. Happy Christmas.
Worked for me, thanks a lot. My VR in MSFS2020 was working except I had black box and position problems. Following advice to repair my Oculus Rift CV1 software it failed to install until I re-installed it to my C: drive, it was on G:. This allowed me to install Oculus update.
Amended Registry entry from G:, which MSFS2020 had recognised on original installation, to C:Black square gone, position in VR sorted, well pleased.
For SteamVR (Beta) If you’ve followed the directions, and still get ‘No Headset Detected’, then make SteamVR the OpenXR runtime like this: SteamVR (Beta) -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Developer -> Current OpenXR Runtime : SteamVR
Open Steam
View
Start SteamVR (BETA)
Settings
Advanced Settings (Show)
Developer
Current OpenXR Runtime : SteamVR
If you don’t see ‘Developer’, it is because there’s something wrong with your physical setup of your headset. Most likely a power cable, USB, or HDMI connector to your graphics card is not correctly plugged in.
@CaptMo0723 & others. I solved my issue. It was caused by the SteamXR not being properly placed into the registry.
I will suggest 2 solutions.
1 - Manually verify the registry entry.
• Open the registry editor
• Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Khronos, OpenXR,1
• The value of the ACTIVERUNTIME should be “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\steamxr_win64.json”
• Correct the value if it is not
AND/OR
2 - run a *.reg file to insert or copy the correct value
• create a blank text file
• paste the following into the text file:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
Two days I had struggle with my Oculus Quest. I have tried almost all suggested sollution.
I had to turn of testchannel, because it give a issue at the usb port.
Then I edit the regitry key for openxr.
started msfs and activated vr in general settings. And yes, I get a split flatscreen. I put on my headset, but only Oculus home. I had not activate the oculus link in my headset. Did that and yes it worked, after a long time. My 67 year old brain is tired now and then.
Now my chaasing for FPS begins
