In the DA62, the EFB takes up like half of the already very small window. I don’t see a simple way to hide the EFB as clicking on the mount does nothing. I would like to be able to see out the window.

Click the power button on the upper right hand edge of the EFB to hide it.
I thought the [Tab] key hides it?
The [Tab] key just makes it pop out of its holder and display even larger right in front of your face, with [Tab] again returning it to its holder.
There’s no X button like there is on the ones that aren’t physically represented in the cockpit and JUST pop up with [Tab].
As TheM00ps says, there’s a not-really-visable power button on the upper right edge (next to the range callout on the map) like you would find on a phone, or … a tablet. 
Unfortunately, this still leaves the RAM mount stuck to the windscreen. (Which you can click to make the tablet return.) Doesn’t seem to be any way to get that to disappear.

Yeah that button is hard to find/click, but also the mount is still there, so there’s still a large obstruction. Not ideal, but a little better.
