High Altitude Landing and Flaps

Just attempted a landing at Salt Lake City, and my plane (787) stalled and due to speed dropping rather quickly. Up until that point everything was quite stable on AP. I was around 9,000 ft when stall occurred. I had set flaps to around 20 by that point, landing gear not deployed yet. I’m wondering if the problem was the flaps. Is it necessary to delay when flaps are extended if you are landing at a higher altitude airport? Should flaps be fully extended at landing, or do you have to play it by ear depending on speed or other factors? I’m still somewhat new to MSFS, so I would appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance.

Alot depends on weight, wind ect. Here is a video showing a manual landing and what to look for.

Thanks for the video. I’m sure it will be very helpful.

…and don’t dip your wings in the Salt Lake; terrible corrosion. :grinning:

Hey, I just landed there, but in the TBM 930. Nice scenery, and nice airport too.
