I hope everyone is doing well during these crazy times.
Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced the following glitch with live weather at higher altitudes.
Usually when going higher than 18000/FL180 The speed suddenly fluctuates
Example, speed would be regular climb speed, then suddenly goes down to 220kts.
The problem seems to happens everytime i fly higher than FL180
It’s also worth to mention that this only happens to me with live weather ON.
Also noticed wind direction change is possibly a reason to this speed fluctuation. Can it drive an A320’s speed down from Mach 0.78 to Mach 0.61 ( i don’t think so)
Yes, I have happening in the Cessna Citation Longitude frequently now; the issue starts at about FL200, it suddenly makes a violent lurch left/right, the speed first accelerates to over 300kts (instantly!) followed by an immediate drop to 220kts where the engines spool up to past redline rates as it tries to recover to the climb rate/climb speed (which it never does). Goes on for a couple of minutes, then another sudden lurch and things go back to normal, everything–airspeed, climb rates, engine status. Then this cycle happens again every 4,000-5,000 feet as it continues to climb til you reach an altitude and stay there. One of the gifts of SU5, I guess.
