High clouds need some work done?

Sadly didn’t last long though, even 30 minutes after this was taken the weather changed. Seems to me still issues going on with the data streaming for weather

Hopefully this thread will be feedback-logged soon so that devs can investigate what’s going on with those inconsistencies on how Live weather is rendering clouds. Good examples have been posted.

Yep, I think the “bug” is that we sometimes get to see the pre-SU7 weather and I don’t think we are supposed to. All clouds are now puffy cumulus as far as Asobo are concerned and when the sim produces anything else, it’s not supposed to be doing that. :frowning:

Yes, or that weather has not been postprocessed yet. It’s the raw model we can see sometimes. What i understand MB only does 2 model runs per day every 12 hour. Inbetween those they apply postprocessing in those model runs depending on what type of postprocessing the customer wants for their type of software they rendering the data in. There is different methods of postprocessing.

Scroll down and Check under “sources” here:

Some preffer the weather to be postprocessed and some like me preffer the raw simulation model. Neither of those are perfect solution. Both methods has limitations.

At release 2020 we had this:

Weather data based on simulations are updated by “model runs”.

After su7 we have this:

Weather data based on measurements are updated when measurement data become available.

Edit: I want to add this that describes the limitations of Messurements and simulation data.

What i think we are missing since su7 is the option to only use the simulation data without post processing if we want to. It’s only Asobo that has the possibility to provide that for us because they have the partnership with a weather forecast data provider

Sometimes the sim is capable to render a nice overcasted sky. Quite rare unfortunately.

Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

LFBO (Toulouse). Some high clouds present but depiction could be improved and as per MB map coverage should be > 95%, not the case in the sim

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Don’t see any cloud on the world map at LFBO
