Hello All,
First time posting, so sorry if this is posted in the wrong area, but in the past I have had issues with high latency coupled with low FPS. HOWEVER, I’ve been playing around with settings, watching videos and fallowing tweaks others have recommended. But now I have an oddball sort of situation, that being my latency jumping around all over the place. Example it will be at 112.8ms then a split second later it will be at 12ms then back up to 90 and so on and so forth… Its just dancing all over the place. The FPS is jumping too, but to a lesser extent, like 44-51 at cruise. CPU and GPU utilization also doing the same thing. I cant figure out what setting caused it do start this.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Steven
What do you mean by latency, where are you getting this 112.8ms number from? From one of the threads in the dev mode FPS counter?
Is it possible to check ping, latency etc to MS game servers? I know I can tell ping in game, but I want a test. Like when you test your internet speed.
Apologies, I guess I should have clarified that more. I’m getting this info from the Nvidia overlay you get when you hit “ALT-R” I think it is. It gives you FPS, PC Latency, CPU usage & GPU usage. The issue I’m finding is that it seems to create a stutter every once and awhile ….. I’m assuming due to latency since FPS are higher.
I have no idea… to just make this clear, I’m a complete stupid novice when it comes to fine tuning a computer. I built my own computer custom, and built this PC specifically for FS2020… but I have no doubt I’m probably leaving a lot of performance on the table so to speak because it’s probably not set up for the optimal performance for FS2020.
Oh ok, i never use that overlay as i uninstalled GE a long time ago.
I would recommend switching on the dev mode FPS counter within the sim and analyse the thread traces there. That’s what most people here do to discuss. It provides better performance insights into the sim than an external overlay can.
