The Hoist Endorsement mission behave in an unexpected way.
Lowering the rescuer person from ~30ft, the rescuer sinks into the ground and does not move. The only way to complete the missions is to drag the person by the rope directly over the rescuee.
What I expect is for the rescuer to either stand on the ground swim in the water, then walk or swim toward the victim within the rescue circle.
Unlike the linked video, flying helicopters with no assistance and no auto pilot, it’s much more difficult to stay in a precise hover or drag the line as demonstrated.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
Occurs every time.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
For me, just initiate the Hoist Endorsement mission.
Fly to the target and hover
Press the Quick Reply button to initiate hoist
Observe rescuer descend then sink into the ground.
I agree with this being an issue. That is not how this should work. Also the crew should be communicating with the pilot. I play in VR and this is a nightmare. I hold a perfect stable hover and nothing happens. Rescuer just lays on the ground.
This is a major problem imo. 1. You are forced to use external camera because you get no help whatsoever. That takes the realism away.
Any hoist mission goods on the ship helipads are placed “stupidly” close to the ship.
I doubt you can place a real helicopter that close, but magically the rotor doesn’t hit anything.
A marshaller and/or a visible measurement indicating center/distance to the goods is really missing here.
I know… the “crew” is helping you a tiny bit, but it’s far to sparse.
“You’re on the spot” and “you’re to far from the spot” - I guess my grandma could tell me that as well, but it’s no help at all.
Please specify the title of the bug, for better identification: Career / helicopter SAR-HOIST mission / Hoist Endorsement - rescuer sinks into ground and does not move
It’s great that the bug ticket is ready. The rescuer sinks or disappears, lies down on the ground, in the ground…
Unfortunately, in addition to this, another big problem is that there are only SAR-HOIST missions in water environments. On land, in the mountains, there are no helicopter SAR-HOIST missions at all. We only encounter land SAR-HOIST missions when the mission appears, never again.
