Surprised to check my usual supplier, and they have both the honeycomb alpha (not the plus) and bravo in stock in over 20 stores. Do I dare take a chance?
I figure maybe the bravo … and let honeycomb get through all the old alphas before buying a yoke. But it still feels risky.
Honestly, I would get it… the Bravo is just brilliant for the price.
Even if Honeycomb went under the Bravo works, and should work with 2024.
I also love the Alpha, and if you don’t need Xbox compatibility the old version is fine and could save you some money. Although I do wish the pitch was a little looser.
I am in the same situation!
But Virpil comes out with a new yoke tomorrow.
Going to take a look at that before I decide.

I’ve had both for years. Having six axes on the Bravo plus the switches and dedicated AP section is a marriage made in heaven for twin-engine prop planes that have throttle/mixture/propellor controls. Is it perfect? No, but for the money I don’t think you can beat it.
I like my Alpha as well, especially since I got my Streamdecks, and was able to offload some of the switches (esp. lights, battery, alternator, magnetos, starter.) Its 180° aileron throw works well.

Also worth noting, the way the Bravo pairs with the Alpha make it pretty much all you would ever need for a piston single or twin. And almost perfect for turboprops. Every switch and button you need for VFR or IFR from cold and dark to destination. You won’t need to use the mouse much.
It is basically a little Cessna cockpit without a radio.
It does airliners quite well, especially Boeings, but there are other yoke or stick pairings that might be better.
It does admirably with most stick flown planes from
bush planes to warbirds but often a HOTAS is best for these birds.
And you can fly helicopters with the pairing, although a yoke is odd for that, and the bravo is on the wrong side for traditional helicopter piloting.
And you will need some kind of pedals for this pairing to really work.
But if you like GA flying especially, the Alpha/Bravo paired together really does the trick.

Already got 2 pairs of pedals, logi flight yoke (had two, destroyed one to find outvwhy brand new yokes disconnect after an hour - thermallt defective chip), t flight hotas (again had two, one was defective out of the box) 2 msi wireless gamepads, 2 xbox wireless gamepads, and 4 cougar mfds (think button boxes).
A good throttle quadrant, the button boxes, rudder pedals, and gamepad are all i need for the caribou (though if there weren’t quality control problems with the boeing yoke, i’d be tempted).

Yeah, I was looking for another yoke a while ago and always came back to the Alpha. For the price it is solid and looks great and it matches the Bravo.
If I could pick only one, I would go with the Bravo. It is quite special.
But the Alpha feels premium. It is a good yoke. And I have similar worries about the Boeing yoke.
It is also uniquely GA compared to so much gear in the price range.
I use a Hotas One sometimes, for helicopters and stunts. But usually I just use the Honeycombs for both. I’m used to it.
Virpil yoke paired with Honeycomb Bravo?
Honeycomb xpc yoke would be ideal because it has Hall effect sensors whereas the Alpha has pots. I don’t think I’m patient enough to wait for the xpc:face_with_diagonal_mouth:
Re the XPC version…Hall sensors put the yoke into another category…very, very happy with mine. Had it for many, many months and it gets a bit of a flogging, so far so good.

My beloved Alpha will be going in the next two weeks as Ive ordered a Flitesim CLS-60 FFB yoke. Would never have thought of getting rid otherwise. With my bravo it
s the best non ffb combination out there imho.

They’ve obviously got to assemble snd sell the old parts first, because peopls want the hall sensor version (even though the front grille is butt-ugly).
Well I pulled the trigger and pledged (bought?) the Virpil yoke through Kickstarter.
Hope it works out. Its a long process as I won’t receive the product until May 2025.
After more consideration, and the known poor quality of the bravo “near the end” of the previous iteration of the company, I’m going to let others be the guinea pigs.
In the meantime I put this together today, and it works great. So I’m going to add 4 more sometime in the new year. I worked it out - all 8 MDFs will be in easy reach.
