Honor the Legacy of Bessie Coleman Day

On the anniversary of the death of Bessie Coleman,, the first woman to hold an international pilot’s license, who also broke the person of color barrier, fly over or/to her grave site at the Lincoln Cemetery of Chicago. Co-ordinates 41.669073298023854, -87.70124208570554
For 41 years there was a flyover of her grave on the anniversary of her death. Sadly, that tradition also died. So fire up your Curtis JN-4 and fly from Merrill C. Meigs Field and visit the grave of a woman that put the “spit” in spitfire on the anniversary of her death.

I followed the link to Wikipedia. It was very informative to read.
I will give the flight a go on the 30th of April.

I love Bessie Coleman, and didn’t know about the flyover. Thank you for sharing this! Will definitely hop in the sim on the 30th of April and do this in her honor!

I hope that I got the date right, April 30, as far as I am concerned it should be the whole week!

Thank you! Maybe someone with your stature could put a word into MSFS for a good easter egg at her grave site.
