I am trying to nail down the settings for my Crystal, and there seems to be competing settings when using OpenXR Toolkit. I know OXRT has been discontinued, but it has features I use, specifically the FPS and GPU overhead display as it helps me when tweaking the settings to see if I am moving in the right direction, so I want to keep using it for as long as it is viable.
With that in mind, does anyone have a recommendation on settings when using it with a 4070 Super?
I have selected Pimax OpenXR as the runtime in Pimax Play.
In Pimax Play I can set the “Render quality” (should be named resolution) to high, medium, low or custom. I have been running it at 0.85. But then in OXRT there is also override resolution where I forget what I set it to, but I believe it was set following a suggestion from VR Flight Sim Guy. But these two settings seem to be trying to do the same thing. Should I use just one of them? Set it to 1 in Pimax Play and just override in OXRT, or the other way round…
And then there is Foveated rendering. In Pimax Play they call it Fixed Foveated rendering (but the OG Crystal has Dynamic Foveated rendering doesn’t it?) Seems the software is Crystal Light-centric. There is OpenXR Quadviews or Central Priority. MSFS doesn’t support Quadviews does it? So should the former be turned off? Or both and just set it in OXRT? Currently I have both turned on and then Performance below that.
Even without OXRT there are layers upon layers of settings.
